OBJECTIVE- The objective of this project is to learn to recognize the International Morse Code sounds well enough to carry on meaningful communications using only the Morse Code. |
PROJECT GUIDELINES
NOTE: You must complete Phase I and Phase II or the Morse Code Study project before you will be allowed to do this project. {You must be able to recognize the sound patterns for all 26 letters and all 10 numerals in International Morse Code. See Morse Code Study.) 1. Read the INDEPENDENT PROJECT GENERAL GUIDELINES first. 2. Complete a project design form and get it signed by your science teacher. 3. Practice "copying" morse code until you can write out a message without many mistakes. 4. Take a sound test of a short message and score at least 9 correct on the 20 questions that are asked about the message: 9 correct answers: 60 pts (D) 15 correct answers: 110 pts (A+) 10 correct answers: 70 pts (C-) 16 correct answers: 120 pts (A+) 12 correct answers: 80 pts (B-) 17 correct answers: 130 pts (A+) 13 correct answers: 90 pts (B+) 18 correct answers: 140 pts (A+) 14 correct answers: 100 pts (A) 19 correct answers: 150 pts (A+) 20 correct answers: 160 pts (A+) 5. You will not be allowed to use the sound chart or notes on the test. |
